OUR STORY

I founded MSD with a vision to make ballet accessible to every little girl or boy who has ever dreamed of becoming a ballerina. Inspired by the opportunity I had growing up at the boarding school I went to in the rural area of Settlers, Limpopo, I wanted to give other children the same chance. This project has always been deeply personal to me.

We began in Hammanskraal, and soon MSD then evolved, and traveled to areas where ballet is often seen as a luxury, places where it’s not easily accessible. Yet, we make it possible.

It hasn’t always been easy, but seeing the joy and the smiles on these young faces has made every challenge worthwhile. We’ve now expanded to Tembisa and Atteridgeville, and this journey continues to inspire us.

This concert is especially meaningful. For many of our students, it will be their first time performing on stage, and not just any stage a full theatre. We hope you’ll join us in supporting these talented young ballerinas as they step into the spotlight.

Why Choose MSD?
